Hey everyone
Over the past week or so, thumbnail.so has gone a bit mental and everytime I switch on my laptop, I have to spend several minutes to kill something like 5 instances of thumbnail.so (it's a bit like whack-a-mole) each of which take up around 10-15% of a hyperthreaded quad core (core i7 4700mq) processor which drives the core temperature of the processor to around 90 Celsius (194 Fahrenheit). Killing the processes has no impact on Dolphin and it still happily displays thumbnails for images, videos and every other file type that it can handle. The issue is driving me up the wall and I'd highly appreciate any help/guidance in how to go about troubleshooting it or at least figuring out what's causing the CPU pegging. -- Regards Ali |

this sounds like a bug report and should be sent to the bug tracker, complete with the exact versions of the application, Plasma release and distribution, which are lacking and absolutely essential to be able to solve the issue.
Running Kubuntu 22.10 with Plasma 5.26.3, Frameworks 5.100.0, Qt 5.15.6, kernel 5.19.0-23 on Ryzen 5 4600H, AMD Renoir, X11
FWIW: it's always useful to state the exact Plasma version (+ distribution) when asking questions, makes it easier to help ... |
