BIG fan of KDE. Wanted to make sure KDE was aware of the ICANN .ORG TLD Renewal Agreement modifications.
ICANN wants to line .ORG up with their single base agreement for gTLD. The reported result is that caps on renewals for .ORG domains which are currently around the trivial $6 annual price will have their caps removed, and the prices are expected to subsequently be based on the domains current value. A domain such as KDE.org would likely be highly valuable. I'm not sure how many repositories, such as for Debian derivatives, use the .org TLD. The expected next step for ICANN is to do the same to .COM TLDs. Which is expected to be blocked, but may slip under the radar. Currently the open comment time on ICANN's proposal has 5 days left, with few replies. Is this a quality or quantity measurement? https://www.icann.org/public-comments/o ... 9-03-18-en This article is the one that I was made aware of describing the changes. http://www.circleid.com/posts/20190423_ ... y_domains/ |

And how is this related to the KDE forum?
Running Kubuntu 22.10 with Plasma 5.26.3, Frameworks 5.100.0, Qt 5.15.6, kernel 5.19.0-23 on Ryzen 5 4600H, AMD Renoir, X11
FWIW: it's always useful to state the exact Plasma version (+ distribution) when asking questions, makes it easier to help ... |
