Hello, I don't know if this is the appropriate place to ask this question.

I'm from XFCE and tried Kde plasma 5 for the first time and testing it out in my VM its pretty fascinating of it's robustness and performance. Thanks for the great Job.

The point that I'm confused with even after few read ups I couldn't clarify about the user telemetry data tracking/collection from DE's side and couldn't find any detailed info on this.

My question is what kind of data is collected from KDE?
Is there any minimal data collection with or without user's willingness?
If yes, Is there any options to opt out or monitor the data that sent out?

I stopped using ubuntu completely just because of the canonical's data collection. And hesitation in DE patrons itself Google, PIA and canonical so my complete issue of using De for the regular purposes is just because of PRIVACY!

I really appreciate DE community of their work.
Thank you.

The policy is here: https://community.kde.org/Policies/Telemetry_Policy

One of the facets of the KDE community is our care for user privacy and security. We have major goals around improving our software even more. See https://dot.kde.org/2019/06/05/kde-priv ... 19-edition for instance.

I use Kubuntu which is a flavor of Ubuntu. We do not allow any communication "phone home" activity without users turning it on. In other words, it is off by default.
