It's been deferred to tomorrow. Two last-minute fixes had to go in.

Cool, thanks for the info einar.
I've been looking forward to trying the beta out too. From what I've seen so far 4.2 is going to be stunning!

I just installed the 4.1.80 release from the opensuse unstable repo and wanted to say WOW!
I'm loving the new artwork in plasma. Seems very fast too, even compared to the 4.1.7x releases. the way it's going at the moment 4.2 and beyond are gonna be stunning! One very happy kde user ![]()

Notice that the current openSUSE packages lack MSN support in Kopete, because there is no libmsn (and Kopete switched to libmsn recently, before feature freeze).

einar - you wouldn't know whether it's still on track for today would you?

could you tell me if the quickaccess and quicklauncher plasmoids are working in 4.1.8 as they weren't (at least for me) in earlier openSuse unstable repo's. It's weird but the rpms for these 2 in the community repo haven't been updated since 10/27 (also were moved to the desktop repo in factory). thanks, |

Qucklauncher should be included with Plasma by default in 4.2
I would assume that the QuickLauncher/Access plasmoids from 4.1 would not work with 4.2 though. |

thanks - correct, quicklauncher is there but no quickaccess plasmoid, does anyone know why? Is this an openSuse issue? Or know where I could get an rpm - thanks, |

The QuickAccess plasmoid is a third-party plasmoid that has not been updated to the KDE 4.2 api, though after KDE 4.2 backwards-compatibility should be stable until KDE5.

Thanks, I assume that 'KDE 4.2 backwards-compatibility' has yet to be implemented, not that it's available and I have not installed it - correct? thanks, |

Backwards compatibility isn't something you install. It's an assurance that plasmoids that are written for KDE 4.2 won't break after KDE 4.2.

Yeah, I noticed that and set up kmess instead. ![]() But, this morning libmsn turned up in the repo. All is well again. :shade:
