Hello everyone,
I need to be enlightened please because even though I read about KDE, I really don't understand what it is... is it a collaborative workspace (like Slack or trello)? a software or an application? but who does what exactly? Could I use it to manage my site for example? thank you ^^

KDE, originally, was a desktop environment used on various unix-like operating systems, but eventually became a larger community, focusing on the Plasma desktop environment that KDE later became, but also including software that uses the core libraries and systems that the desktop is built with.

KDE is a community. We make software. Are you asking about Plasma, or what?

Could I have some concrete examples of what can be done with (or thanks to) KDE please?

You may need to be more specific, as there are many things that people can do using KDE software.
But: here is some info about Plasma Desktop https://kde.org/plasma-desktop https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=avmZPU1OdNU Here is a list of applications built using KDE's libraries/UI toolkit https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_KDE_applications highlights include: Video Editor (kdenlive) Digital painting (krita) an office suite (Caligra)

that's really nice of you @claydoh
I'm going to read all this quietly and I'll come back here if something doesn't seem clear to me ![]() |
