Dissension sparks innovation. If people only post positives, then the dev's think everything is great, then wonder why their userbase declines. Yea, ranting might be a little excessive but like the OP said: he is entitled to his opinion. He/she is also entitled to use Gnome, XFCE, buy an Apple, or even go back to putting caviar on Bill's table.
Personally, I am willing to give 4.x a shot. Gonna turn off most of the gimmicks, might try them out slowly so they're a little easier to digest |

There are many ways to put up a post. "KDE4 sucks" is definitely not an appropriate title, even if it was meant towards the betterment of the concerned DE.
If I myself feel something is not just right, I file wishlist bugs, like these. I see _many_ of these addressed to in KDE 4.2, some are almost immediately. I agree that the OP is totally entitled to present his/her views, but after crossing a level of rudeness, it's quite wrong to expect the developers to even take a look at it. |

I came here to ask, if it is a good idea to migrate to kde4 NOW, if I need no more hustle than installing 3.5. When is that going to be, if possible to estimate and what is really better in 4, if in short?

what is "hustle" as in "if I need no more hustle than installing 3.5." You can always install 4.2beta and see if it's to your liking as it co-exists with 3 -just select your preference at the kdem login screen

Well, that was a statement to make some kind of comparing. Like install, configure panels, colors, shortcuts, some similar activities (not much!) and use! Do I have to drop me into it just to know? Why don't you tell? - KDE applications compatibility - extra nightmares with panels / window manager itself - other better / worse?

I think the word should be "hassle" as in "extra effort" Cheers, _

You people have the least transparency.
1. My thread gets deleted. Can't take criticism..? 2. Some lame user linuxisinovation warns me, and I dont know how.. If he can, why cant I warn all you guys? Wish I can do that.. 3. No one agrees with me that KDE sucks even though it is true.. WTF? WHat can you do anyway? ban me? but still kde will suck |

You want to repeat this? Or do you want to give valid input?

Opinions and criticism are most welcome. However at least I'm not counting "sucks ***" and other similar blaming neither of them.
I think many people agrees that KDE sucks (as you can see from the topic of this thread). But they have also reasons to hate it. Please bring out your point of view in contructive way not only by saying "this is a ****".
It's in no ones interest to ban users. But please, be more collaborative and repectful. In other words please read this: http://kde.org/code-of-conduct/.

It's not. Maybe you don't like KDE. That's OK, but you can't take your opinion as the only true and existing opinion. You have never said, what exactly sucks on KDE, or which Version you mean(KDE 3.5?, KDE 4.0, 4.1.0 ... 4.2.0 beta?). What DE did you prefer and why? Only to say "KDE is bull****" isn't helpful and has nothing to do in an forum or somewhere else. Try to make your criticism productive and it will not be deleted. Regards, TeaAge

This forum is new, so such things will still happen once or twice before the patience will come to an end. ,-)

Linday: First of all, please read the Code of Conduct.
I find it amusing that you ask how someone warns you, not why. How would warning other people benefit you? If you find something that "sucks" in the Free Software world, there are typical two ways to deal with it:

Your previous thread wasn't about critisism, but about trolling. Big difference.
I don't think its a good idea to give trolls like you such privileges. Furthermore, in the other thread, it is explained to you why you were warned and how that was possible.
People usually just delete any software they don't like and go on with their lifes. You apparently have no life, so you found it neccesary to become a member of this forum and to start trolling about kde..
That is probably what you are after...
