Development seems to be quite healthy at the moment: It's not "on fire", but it's not on life support, either

The link works fine for me.

It is, and nicely. Although Sebastian Trueg is not committing a lot in k3b, Michael Maleki is, at least a bit every weekend.
Alpha 3 works OK for me on my machines.

I compiled k4b from kde trunk and it works quite well even if I espected a better interface instead of the old one. Moreover I can't understand why it doesn't want to burn my dvd at 4x and forces 8x speed.
I can't find the k3b forum and irc channle is always empy. Your help would be appreciated. |

It has worked fine for me for months now. There have been a few UI improvements that I think are good (like no longer splitting CD, DVD5, and DVD9 burning), but overall I don't think the UI was broken so fixing it was not really an issue IMO.

Have been using K3B with a KDE4 UI blending since Karmic, and it does really match the oxygen style pretty well. Same applies for all apps (Like OO.o) that Karmic includes by default and has a KDE4-ish UI now.

Kubuntu 9.10 is much smoother that it's older versions and appreciably fast. Boot times are less that half that what it used to be in Jaunty. If you wish to go for Kubuntu, Karmic is a good choice.
