KMail probably wants to save all the passwords it has.

Probably a safety net in case adding the password to the wallet previously was aborted / failed / password changed / etc.

Fine :P
I've also noticed that deleting (moving to trash) is very slow.. edit: and makes kio_trash go 50% cpu usage (x2cpu)

I cannot reproduce kio_trash eating CPU, so it must have been fixed after 4.2 Beta 2 was released.

1) KDE versions are all over the place. Some not integrated. Okay, maybe they can 'share' applications? 2) But, worse, is that when I open a program, I cannot CLOSE it. Nothing happens. I have to right click and get a drop down menu to close the program! UNREAL. 3) The GUI window screen is 'stuck.' It won't move. You cannot drag it. You cannot re-size it. Firefox opens up half of the screen and that is all you get. 4) I think people are lying. There are people who are saying some bugs are fixed... ![]() |

We have this policy here: follow the Code of Conduct!
Means, your last point is not acceptable. Just look into the commit logs and you will see solved bugs. But about your other points: 1. I don't understand what you mean by that. There should be only one version number across KDE4 2. see the other thread please 3. same here |

Sorry, I was being sarcastic. It doesn't appear to me that anyone wants to 'fix' or consider these bugs.
Amarok was being displayed as using KDE ver. 3.5.10. There's a whole lot of really quick flashing when opening programs and just now, I tried to open Amarok and it won't open. I got a bunch of quick flickering/flashes. The KDE menu goes the same colour of the default blue desktop screen. I was told the KDE menu flickering (of black/purple colours) was fixed so I was interested in trying KDE 4.2. If users are just going to say it's "me" then I will perceive that as a lack of interest in bug reporting and finding fixes. I'm sorry I cared. I don't like Gnome but I guess I have to use KDE 3.5.10 until those distros upgrade. Then I have no choice but to pick a Gnome-based desktop. ![]()

At least developers need to be aware of these bugs to fix them. And without much input it is hard to resolve them.
About your problem, if you want a solution, please put it into your other thread and maybe we can try to solve it. As you can see, not many users reported the same as you did. So it would be nice to see it solved. |

Ok, I will go back to my own original thread. I would like to help although I don't know how much I can offer.
I don't see how it is anything out of the ordinary. I don't want to spend much time on it, though. Honestly, there are TOO many bugs, imho, at least at present on MY system. |

I find that if I try to mess around with the plasmoids too much at one time, plasma starts slowing down, freezing up, and crashing. And there's a thing that happens sometimes where the panel starts flickering. I'll file a report when I get a chance to really observe the phenomenon.
But it's killer. The design is too smart and beautiful to be dismissed as "eye candy". One great example: I really love the grey Konsole terminal! Only someone with a real sense of design could have known that grey, reputedly the most depressing color of them all, could make a terminal window look so fresh and interesting! (Edit: it's also easy on the eyes, very comfortable, no glare and just the right amount of contrast. That may have been the idea all along. It's also the most keyboard-friendly KDE I've ever seen. The action input dialogue has been greatly simplified (in the sense that there are fewer steps to entering a keyboard shortcut, though I had to stare at it, uncomprehending for a couple of minutes, and do a little random clicking to get the idea.) Many applications now have keyboard shortcut dialogues added to their configuration interface... and the bugs that have prevented the action input dialogue from working relaibly in the past appear (so far) to have been fixed. If this KDE was a car, it would definitely help me to get some girls. Hey, the web browser plasmoid is a great idea. What can't I do with a web browser, and maybe a copy of HTML for Dummies? It's a web browser, but it's also potentially a picture frame, an RSS reader (leave the browser at igoogle), a notepad (not as convenient as the sticky notes widget, but with all sort of options for choosing the background and text color (Want more than one text color in a single memo? No problem!) . You can also post notes with web links. I'm sure there's lots more you can do.

If you have the nVidia card try to install the newest driver, it helped for me. As far as I can tell, also if you have the blur effect enabled disable it. You can see my problems under my thread (plasma crashes a lot and other problems)
