i use kde 4 for a while now but i miss much konqueror from kde 3

konquror 4 has severely cut down all other options except web browsing

having to use dolphin as another app is just bad

there is no option to open everything in a tab (dragonplayerpart okularpart and others)

the photobook view and file size view from konqueror 3 are gone




i like many of the new options introduced in kde 4 like the + / - file selection

i think giving all dolphin capabilities in konqueror (like providing dolphinpart for konqueror) and adding the other options from konqueror 3 can make konqueror an awesome app

Which distro do you use. I had a feeling that a normal Konqueror was more powerful that only Kubuntus Konqueror is a web browser only...
But I'm not sure. There are still quite some options there but are harder to find. And Dolphin does have almost all functions that Konqueror had.
But i'm not the best to tell you that as I always used Dolphin instead of Konqueror (I started using Kubuntu and KDE at 3.5 and Dolphin was then already a
default File Manager...)

dolphin is nice but i'd like to have it all in konqueror (like open it in tabs with websites open in other tabs) and not external app

and they both lack photobook and file size views + previews on mouse hover + much more

In opensuse 11.1 previews on mouse hover are there. File size view I think was a separate application that integrated with konqueror, and that application has not been ported yet.

File Size View is available, I have it. You need to install the Konq-Plugins from extragear/base.
