KDE on Minix3 is it possible?

Wed Feb 11, 2009 5:22 pm
Not that I'll try it or anything. This is more of a pure theoretical post.
If I were to successfully install Minix3 can I get KDE4 to work.

I think that it could be done through SVN, but I'm not sure.

Once again I'm not really thinking of trying it, but if someday I'll be in a really destructive and counter-productive mood and feel like just throw away a lot of hours for some experiment I might try it. I'm interested how good / bad it is. And how different it is from Linux.

I suppose it would be possible, although you would probably have to compile quite a few dependencies below KDE ( X for instance ). But as long as KDE's dependencies are available, it should run.

Minix3 has some kind of X for it. Don't know the specifics. I'm not aware whether Qt exists or compiles on it though.
