Tagging in KDE

Tue Apr 14, 2009 8:42 am
When I'm tagging some photos with Picasa, digiKam (0.10.0) is able to read this Tags.
Because Picas write this Tags in EXIF --> IPCT
But if the Tags are make with dikiKam other Programs are not able to read this.
Dolphin or Gwenview doesn't show rating photos, whose made in digikam

Gwenview and Dolphin works together. They can read ratings and tags which are made with Gwenview or Dolphin. But here it is the same problem. Other Programs can not read this tags. Where does Gwenview and Dolphin save this Information? Where does digiKam save this Information?

Why aren't these informations not saved in the EXIF --> IPTC standard, or an other standard?

I believe Digikam stores the tags in its Database and then synchronises them when asked ( I think this can be done automatically ). Not sure where this menu item is however.
