Single. Double is completely unintuitive and catches me out every time.

Single click because of columns view mode in Dolphin is weird with double click. I agree with fraxinus, single click must be very confusing to new users, QT stuff single click everything else (firefox, java apps, GTK apps,... ) double click. Default should be double click.

I had trouble with single click when I 1st switched from windoze but got used to it fairly quickly and much prefer it. I worked as a software engineer and given the nature of that had to use windoze at work. No problem using either really but prefer single click.

Just had to check what I do as I don't think about it any more. Select usually means using a right click. Selecting a number of things means shift left clicking what ever you want to select. Last one a right click. It's easy to get used to.

Dolphin now behaves differently according to where the cursor is. I haven't really used that feature yet other than selecting when I meant to open. I expect it still needs the final right click otherwise it would have no way of knowing when the user had finished selecting. Improvement yes as the keyboard doesn't need using. Unusual for people like me to not use short cut keys but I gave into the mouse a long time ago and only use short cut editing keys etc.

I use double-click, of course. My girlfriend asked me to make single-click mode on her laptop because she never used computers and do not know how to make double-click and use mouse.

It is very annoying when I occasionally work on her laptop.
