KDE comes by default in single-click mode, where to open a file, you just click it once. I don't like that mode because I keep opening stuff by accident, so I always switch to the double-click mode.

However, with double click mode, a lot of things require double click where they really shouldn't (most notably systemsettings, but also a few plasmoids), and that becomes quite annoying.

So I was wondering, how many others use double-click mode?

Well I prefer single click, even though I agree it can be a bit of PITA from time to time, but I'm getting better in avoinding accidental click outside the "plus" area when I want to just select files.

On previous kde version (I'm using kde since 1.0) I used double click, but the "single click to select and single click to open" introduced in kde 4 is just awesome! A real time saver.

When I switched from Windows to Linux I struggeled with the single click. Now I like it so I changed Windows to single click and it don't work right at all.

I prefer the double click, but it's behavior is very inconsistant. So I stick with single click. I wish there were ways to configure it better.

I'm a double clicker.

Maybe I'm just too careless/clumsy/ham-fisted but I tend to miss the selection marker too much.

I'm using single-click mode, ever since I started using KDE... it was bit annoying at the beginning but now it's just faster.

Here another singe-click user
I once had to switch from double-click to single-click, because I was doing some testing for a Dolphin bug report of mine and since then, I never switched back ;-)

Single-clicker, is good once you've got used to the move from Windows. What's this "selection area" though? Is that KDE4 only, or is it in 3.5 too?

When you put the pointer over an icon you can see a green "plus": clicking on it select the file/folder (the plus become a red "minus" to un-select it), clicking elsewhere open it.

The only location I like double-click is within file browsers. Anywhere else single-click!
