Hello out there.
![]() There are things that doesn't exists by default in some KDE's programs, as file zipping menu improvement, for example. I was looking on kde-apps but without success. I am using KDE 4.1.2 and openSUSE 11.0. If someone know how to activate this feature, please say where to find information about it.

If I'm understanding you right, you may want to check out Extract and Compress:

I *REALLY* miss the wonderful kdeprint from KDE 3.5.
It's also very annoying that I only can create keyboard shortcuts for predefined actions of programs.

Who doesn't ![]() There's a new printing manager in KDE's trunk which will be released with KDE 4.2.
Which actions exactly are you missing? You can file that as WISHLIST item on bugs.kde.org. Just stating "I want more keyboard shortcut actions" won't get you any further, we need to know what you're missing -- then it's relatively easy to add some shortcut.

What I miss is having the possibility of randomize the wallpaper, I want KDE to check recursively my wallpaper folder and choose one randomly every 30 minutes.
KDE 4 did that, but the feature seems lost since KDE 4.1 ![]()

Running 4.1.2 here, and it is still there. Be sure to change from picture to slideshow in the desktop settings. |

One thing that I'd like to see is the ability to easily make animated wallpapers from videos and things like that.
Also, better GTK theming/integration would be swell.

What I immediately missed were the task bar widgets which display the cpu and memory usage, cpu frequency etc.

I miss the media device notifier. being able to autorun a dvd, for example. not a big issue for me, but it is really the only kde3 feature I have not heard much about for KDE4 that I use regularly in KDE3

You can run superkaramba widgets in plasma. however you may need to install your distribution's "superkaramba" package ( i run opensuse 11.0 and i had to ) i use the "oxygen system monitor" that can be found on kde-look.org, which is a system monitor similar to what you describe. Ben

It is there. It seems to be missing in trunk/ though, or it has no configuration GUI yet. |
