Printing in Konqueror still unuseable (KDE 4.3 RC)

Hello,

currently I have installed KDE 4.3 RC on my system and it looks really great. I think some of the bugs I have reported are fixed.

But the printing functionality in Konqueror is still not usable. Printing to PDF/PS results in printing only some elements of the website and printing to a printer results in printing the elements of the website on different pages.

Could I hope that this would be fixed for the release of KDE 4.3? Bugs are reported about that.

In my opinion printing websites is a basic functionality of a desktop system and should have a higher priority than some eyecandy things.

Or am I the only one having this problem?

Does nobody else use the standard browser of KDE?

Current work in KHTML focuses on working with more websites and backporting functionality from Webkit.

Hello,

thank you for your reply.

What I would like to understand is why this functionality is not working anymore. It was working in the past.

Is it possible that some other things are not working anymore in future versions of KDE which was working in the past? Or does it have to do something with the big switch to KDE 4, which means that some things still have to be ported or reimplemented?

In which version of KDE was it previously working? This is likely a regression if it has occurred during the KDE 4.x series, otherwise is related to the port to Qt4.

Sorry for not answering a long time. I hoped that I would find an old installation to verify that, but I did not.

You should probably also check the, "HTML settings" in the printer dialogue under, "Options". "Basic mode" will print it as something more human-readable, while switching this off will make it print as the website displays the page (I think...).

OK, so no... it appears that konqueror's printing is borked.
