17) no, I can't. with "Show detailed tooltips" enabled I get really big popups. with "Show detailed tooltips" disabled I get a long textline as popup. but I cannot make it go away.

well, then you can tell me how to disable that popups? didn't read it in your postings. but I would like to know a way, 'cause they are really, really anoying. |

System Settings does not have the capability to disable tooltips. Only some items carry them, and they are intended to provide additional information on items.

ok, thats for the tooltips - I can live with that, as it's only in system settings where they apear.
the other popups, any idea? |

Unfortunately they are under the control of the application that shows them. For Konqueror/Dolphin's tooltips, open Dolphin > Settings > Configure Dolphin > General. Uncheck "Show tooltips"

what about the popups that are caused by the panel and the plasmoids (especially "folderview") ? these are really anoying and I cannot get rid of them.

Those are controlled by Plasma, and I do not believe it is possible to disable them at this time, even in Trunk. If the feature request does not exist at bugs.kde.org, please create one.
