Hi,
I have an application that, before it can see it's first release, needs a nice name. It's a frontend for other free software mathematics projects, giving them a nice KDE-based Worksheet view(longer description/feature list at http://lists.kde.org/?l=kde-edu&m=125081194907862&w=2) Can you help me find a good name? My first ideas are: - Kauchy, after Augustin-Louis Cauchy - Kantor, after Georg Cantor - Kronecker, after Leopold Kronecker - or Konvergenz which is the german word for convergence Do you have a better one? which one do you like most? thanks

"Kalculus" comes to my mind... but there is already a kde app with that name
![]() (It seems orphaned... maybe you can ask the author) If you want a capital "K", "Kantor" seems good.

Sounds very cool - KDE needs more scientific applications.
![]() How about: - Koordinate, after coordinate (both as in "coordinate system" (noun) and "organize" (verb)) - Koefficient, after coefficient (co-efficient, also a pun ![]()

I know I'm too late (just saw the renaming/move on the kde-i18n list), but I associate the word Cantor with singing — it's a Latin name for singer and therefore used in many other European languages (roman or otherwise) as well.
I like Cauchy a lot better, it's catcher, has a nice ring to it and my brother (who studies physics) always mentions his name and functions. Sorry I didn't see the post soon enough :\

If you are still accepting names:
eKuation (like equation) MathKalc MultiKalc SciKalc ___Kalc (replace ___ with something) ___Komp (same as above, but with comp instead of calc) But please hurry, I need this.

It's not kde-extra. It's still in review phase (which will take about two weeks), additionally it is not yet decided if it will go into kde-edu or in extragear. As for the names, yes it is too late(I won't do two renamings), but thanks for your suggestions anyway
