I am KDE 3.5.10 user still but I have one question about new KDE. On the bellow link is "advertisement' for KDE 4.3.1. I like how it looks. The buttons for close, minimize and maximize are all together which I like it and I have on 3.5:
http://kde.org/announcements/4.3/images ... esktop.png but on the another "advertisement" picture is different. There are Konqueror and thew ugly (for me) empty space between "close" and "minimize and maximize". Why and what is different if pictures were taken from the same desktop. http://kde.org/announcements/4.3/screen ... esktop.png Thanks in advance. |

In the second picture the user have change the default title bar layout, the default is the button next to each other but you can add spaces or change the location of the button if you want, this feature was available too in kde3.5.x .

Thank yu very much.
Another question is about K3b which is important application for KDE users. As I know there are not yet ready for KDE 4. If I decided to install KDE 4 than I need to install kdelibs 3 if I want to use K3b? IMO there are not just K3b which need an "old KDE". |

k3b has been ported to kde4 k3b-1.66.0-0.alpha (still an alpha release but it works quite well), there're packages available in Mandriva, probably in other distros too. So check your distros repos or ask in your distro's forum.

I burnt a number of CDs and DVDs with k3b alpha 2. I didn't use any fancy options, but it worked reasonably well for me.

I am so sorry but I didn't find on KDE 4.3.1 how to change it. BTW: I have FreeBSD. |

System Settings -> Appearance -> Windows -> Buttons, remove (drag and drop) the spacers between close and maximize.
