oh, and Thunderbird; KMail is nice, certinatly, but Thunderbird now makes setup so EASY, and it has a damn good UI to boot!

Firefox - simply the best browser
Thunderbird (w/Lightning) - performance, and almost a complete PIM apt - Kpackagekit isn't worth the space it takes (adept is O.K. as a GUI package manager) Mplayer - plays anything including internet radio streams, no problems, and use it with the Smplayer frontend, looks good OO.o - KOffice might be there soon, but right now uh-uh
I feel more like I do now than I did when I got here.

Firefox - obvious reasons
Inkscape - Great for web-design, Krita more for drawing, not technical GIMP - no real KDE replacement, would jump ship @ slightest breeze GTK-Gnutella - Cannot find KDE P2P app for my "family photos" VLC - Dragonplayer poorly handles several features compared to VLC, VLC is still Qt

Aqualung replace for Amarok (I like version of Amarok for KDE3 but not the last one). Aqualung is super IMO.
Opera - the most secure browser (http://secunia.com) GIMP - I don't know other application for Unix Geeqie (fast and IMO very good image viewer) OpenOffice - IMO KOffice is not ready yet. Lyx Almost forgot for the best web browser: Opera ----- http://starikarp.redbubble.com |

1) Firefox (I prefer Konqueror, but it has nothing like flashblock)
2) Gimp 3) Qmpd (with kde3 I used amarok, but I don't like the kde4 version) 4) VirtualBox 5) Lyx 6) Yakuake 7) RSSOwl (but pheraphs I will return to Akregator)

Do you mean that you use the KDE 3 version of Yakuake? (Yakuake is a KDE app.)

Firefox - I use Hotmail for my spam-heavy stuff, and that doesn't work in Rekonq.
Inkscape - Nothing comparable GIMP - Nothing comparable OpenOffice Writer - Kword is horribly broken LyX - Nothing comparable |

1) OO -- because koffice is not ready yet. If the spellcheck is working i will switch immediatly
2) filezilla -- i dont know a kde ftp client.except kftpgrabber the last time i tried it the crash bug was nt fixed. Sometimes i use konqueror for file transfer transactions 3) Clementine -- i dont like the new amarok, but i use juk too 4) VLC -- the only KDE application that i like is KPlayer but it is nt maintained 5) Mandriva control center -- i can do many settings in my system that i cant with systemsettings, the only problem is in GTK 6) simple-scan -- i dont know a KDE application to scan and make pdf files. With simple-scan (gnome) the predefined options are very satisfactory 7) GIMP -- because krita is not ready yet ![]() 9) TVtime -- i loved kdetv but is no more maintained |

1. OpenOffice.org - Installed parts of KOffice (version 2.2.2 from Lucid-backports) yesterday but it does not seem ready for everyday use yet, the developers are doing a great job though.
2. Chromium - Previously used Firefox almost 24/7 up until my recent install of Kubuntu 10.04. Sporadic use Konqueror, to many sites not rendered correctly. 3. Synaptic - Have used KPackageKit more than I thought I would though. 4. VLC - Best in its class 5. Wine - To use Spotify 6. VirtualBox - To be able to start Windows, just in case...
