Hi there !
Few times ago on the Planet I saw a Google Summer of Code project which goal was to make a IDE for KDE based on QtCreator (if I remember well... the pictures pretty much looked like QtCreator in fact). So let me explain the context. I never coded in Qt before. And today, I was bored at worked and I decided I should give it a try. I downloaded the whole Qt SDK and began with QtCreator and some lesson from the siteduzero.com. And then, I enjoyed coding just as I never did before ! It was so easy to do so much things ! I did a instant messaging software, plus the server, a web browser, and even more, playing with all the widgets I could, mapping my window with QtDesigner, and then removing some widget and code new classes using them so it could better match my needs... WA-HOU. Loved it. And as I'm fond of KDE... I wondered how life could be developing new features for KDE, how it would be cool to fix it and make it grow... So I'm starting to learn KDE apps developing with the tuto of kde.org... but still, if a QtCreator like for KDE is in developpement, I want to follow it and use it whenever the first release will be out. I mean, which IDE can show you so fast every methods of every class you use, check your syntax as it does, handling any project you want at the same time and make it so easy to compile, debug and test your apps ! Usually I hate IDE... I use to be a Kate guy. But THIS. THIS ! Well : so I don't find any news about this GSOC project, there's no way to find it ![]() |

You can have a look at the posts on http://planet.kde.org. There were two or three like this one: http://blog.cornelius-schumacher.de/200 ... ek-iv.html (that's the last I've found)
The programmer is Cornelius Schumacher. Hope it helps you Jan ![]() |

Thanks ! Very much ! It's exactly that !
I didn't find it in planetkde : does it have more page than the index and old.html ? I didn't realise he already made it so far o_O ! This looks even greater than QtCreator. |

I actually can't really decide which I like more - QtCreator or the latest betas of KDevelop. KDevelop is still a bit rough around the edges, but it has some really nice features (I especially like the tooltips).
But the good thing is that if the project is CMake-based, I can seamlessly switch between the two and work with whichever is better for that particular task! ![]()
