KDE 4.3.2 thoughts.

Thu Oct 29, 2009 11:59 am
I just wanted to take the time to say how much I appreciate the efforts that have gone into KDE 4.3.2. KDE 4 has been extremely pleasant to use since the 4.2.4 release and it just keeps getting better and better!

KDE 4 is really on the right track as far as attracting new Linux users. KDE 4.3.2 is attractive, fast and has a decent memory footprint considering how feature rich it is. I had been a Gnome user for many years but the modern style and logical layout of KDE 4 has swayed me over to using KDE 4 full time.

I have tested KDE 4.3.2 on OpenSuse 11.2 and Kubuntu 9.10, these are excellent releases and the quality is outstanding! I see more and more interest in KDE 4 because of how modern and user friendly it has become. Application development for KDE 4 has come a long way in a very short time too. I am seeing feature rich, attractive applications being built to run in KDE. Amarok and K3b are good examples.

I would like to congratulate the KDE Developers on their fine work and thank them for having a vision of what people want in a desktop environment. KDE 4 is promoting Linux use in a big way and clearly demonstrates that Linux is a good choice of operating system for the masses.
