KDE seems to work with fewer issues on Linux than Unix. Unix is waiting for KDE to work harmoniously with their system. Take for example OpenSolaris.
Have KDE forgotten which operating system made the internet possible?

AFAIK KDE works great on BSD and it's being developed for OpenSloaris.
It's just that there are not that many devs for it as there are for Linux.

As far as the OpenSolaris, development been in the works for a while, with no full integration to this day.
This seems to be a case of the "Little Red Hen." Until we see it (the hardware) baked, we won't help you.... Full integration would inspire hardware engineers to develop hardware. They would figure out that "it would be a shame to let something as pretty as KDE sit on this OS and not do anything with it." |

This looks so generic that is actually not possible to give some reply with sense. What is the actual problem you are seeing?

Developers have the same number of hours in a day as you do, and there are not many of them. If this is important to you, then contributing to the project should be important too.

Words of wisdom. The manager came through to save the day. Thank you. It would be good for me to look into the KDE userbase.

Well, she does address the problem with the solaris port: its not easy to find people to do the job.
opensource projects are always short on people. most of the times, a few persons are working on multple projects at the same time.
