In addition to my Shark, I really like some of the previous ones:
- Husky - Orka (Orca ?) I've also been thinking of the name "Zephyr", name of a wind. It recalls speed and lightness ... |

Orka is quite funny in Swedish. It don't think there's a good translation to English, but it means something like have the strength to do / withstand / manage / cope. What's funny is that it was a common phrase when I was young - you often hear something like this:
- Hey, let's wash the dishes. - Orka! (another way of saying "I don't want to"/"How troublesome")

I like Orka too, even though in Slovenian it "just" mean killer whale...
But I also like Nimbus which is a cool name. I "vote" for this two.

It could be called the Conquest (or Konquest) Web Browser. This would be a shout out to the original name, rekonq, since Conquest is similar to Konqueror. Keeping the name spelled with a C would be more in line with KDE SC 4's habit of making apps without K's in their names. It also wouldn't require an icon change, since in the current icon, the dragon appears to be conquering the globe.

Voting for your own suggestion eh? ![]() (Besides, the name "Nimbus" is already taken.. by my bike! Yes, really. ![]()
There is already a KDE game called Konquest. I was thinking about a name to fit with Navigator > Explorer > Konqueror > (V)Imperator. Is there a good synonym to "revolutionist" that ends with er/or? "Subverter" doesn't sound very positive to me.

I completely forgot! Thanks for pointing that out. Hmm, how about "Scout" or "Cartographer?" I'm more fond of the latter. |

The point is that we already had a "Scouter" (Explorer). From the Vimperator help page:
Although I like Vimperator, it would be fun to continue this line. After an Imperator, there should be a revolutionist right? (To be honest, though, Vimperator is probably more "revolutionary" than rekonq to me. You better work hard rekonq devs if you're going to choose a name that has to do with revolution! ![]() EDIT: The reason I remember Konquest is because it would always pop first when I wanted to launch Konqueror in the KDE3 days. Just a funny irrelevant fact.

I suggest the name EAGLE, as an eagle and a browser do similar kind of job, one browses the net while the other browses the earth from above.
If that name happens to have some copyright issue its sanskrit equivalent GARUDA might also be a good name. Sanskrit words such as GURU and AVATAR are commonplace now. |

Sorry for messing up your thread, but may I suggest the name WEBGLIDER
A glider is light on the ressources, gives a great overview, yet is fast. We certainly need a webglider... Sincerely Stig Libori, Denmark |

I like this idea. I think I actually prefer the sanskrit version, too. |

You know with all that talking about net and web; I got an idea to name it after a spider.
I know that there might be some arachnophobes among KDE users, which could be a problem, but still spiders a cool creatures that are also "awe-inspiring". So this would be somehow in spirit of Explorer - Navigator - Konqueror. Only spider that comes to mind currently is tarantula...
