I am not sure this is the right section.
In kde3.5 my ~./xsession-errors file was a lot smaller than it is now in kde4. In kde 3.5 apart from startup and shutdown messages there were only error messages. Now kde4 floods this file with zillions of messages that are not errors. In about half an hour it has grown to almost 100K. Gerard.

Run "kdebugdialog" and disable all zones.

I ticked "Disable all debug output" and logged out an in.
Same huge file. My kde-4.4.1 is running fine,everything works w/o any problem. Will this go away once kde4 is fully mature? As far as I'm concerned it already is. Thanks for the info though. Gerard.

Oops, just realized that there is TONS of private stuff in that log file!!! I've removed it again and rather live with this virtually non-existent problem
![]() BTW, I don't think anybody would want their .xsession-errors file to be posted on the internet. For example, Akonadi lists ALL address names and email accounts ![]() Have a look at yours...

@toad,
I've removed semantic-desktop and nepomuk & friends so I don't see this in mine. But there's still a lot of info that's gibberish to me. Gerard.

@ gerard82
Okay, I've kept my semantic desktop et al. virtuoso hits 90% cpu once or twice a day for a second or two, so I can live with that - apart from that it is virtually non-existent. And the search facility using krunner is quite simply stunning afaic, so I'll keep it, but thanks for the info ![]()
