why is it that (or isn't it??) sidux kde feels much more responsive than kubuntu kde on the very same machine? (and seems to use less ram)

Ubuntu tries make sure it works on any/every system and make things as easy as possible so there's probably loads of services running and extra apps installed that aren't needed compared to Debian
