So, before I'm storming KDE's bug tracker I've decided to ask here first.
I'm using KDE 4.4.3 (from Debian testing) and can't seem to set window background color with Oxygen style. Well, I sort off can but it sets only color for the top part of a window. Is it at all possible to disable this so called gradient to gray ugliness? Or set gradient end color at least. Screenshot: http://omploader.org/vNGNqZw Top window color is correct (and even then it should be #F2F1F1), while in the sidebar and at the bottom it's wrong. Another similar issue — background gradient to gray in menus (same style). Is it possible to disable this behavior?

I think systemsettings>appeance>colors>colors tab>color set=window>"alternate background" sets the other color. So if you make normal background and alternate background the same, it should solve your issue. Hope that helps

No, that Alternate color setting is only for items in a list (like the playlist in Amarok, or in the details view in Dolphin). I don't think you can configure the color that the oxygen theme fades to or disable the fade. You can try increasing the brightness of the color used (e.g. #FFFEFE), change the color (e.g. light blue: #C8E0FF), or use a different theme.

They say it can be disabled by setting contrast in systemsettings->appearance->colors->options to minimum. Weird thing but it worked.

Interesting, and a little odd. That setting seems to affect the 3D-ness of the widgets (in other themes, it affects the contrast between the main color and the edges of the 3d objects).
