Hi
Finaly I'm registered. I've been using KDE with Kubuntu for over a year and I like it very much. Every time a new version is launched, I run to do the update. And that's what I did with beta 2 of KDE 4. After a few hiccups, I managed to update KDE, but now my system is very slow, when opening windows, minimizing and maximizing, etc... I had searched a lot, to see if someone else have the same problem, but I couldn't find anyone. Have you already detected this? Is it on the bugs list? Sorry if this isn't the best place to create this post. Keep up the EXCELLENT WORK ![]() |

Welcome,
do you have an NVidia graphics card? if so that may be the problem... of course it is only a beta, problems are to be expected ![]() |

Hi
No, it's an ATI card.... I know there will be bugs. First of all, I just want to contribute, helping finding and reporting problems/bugs, thats why I installed the beta version. ![]() |

fyi - I don't use ATi or Kubuntu but ...........
I wouldn't think up'ing to beta2 would cause these kind of issues did you update your ATI drivers at the same time? did Kubuntu without you noticing? there were new drivers release 5/26 by ATI, if so would you need to configure or re-initialze them (using aticonfig --initial -f)? would this help http://wiki.cchtml.com/index.php/Ubuntu ... tion_Guide is composting type set to xrender instead of opengl? systemsettings -> desktop affects -> advanced -> composting type |

Hi Google01103
I've changed to xrender and it became a lot smoother. I'm gonna try to update the driver. Thanks |

Is Blur enabled? That's something I would directly disable on my computer, since I'm pretty sure my graphic card can't handle it.
