To start, I find the use of "KDE SC" and the official retirement of the phrase "K Desktop Environment" to be absurd.
With that in mind, are the forums going to be renamed the "KDE SC Community Forums"? It would make sense considering the official rename of KDE. |

The forums will continue to be called KDE Community Forums at this time.
Official rename of KDE?? KDE is now a reference to the community surrounding the development of KDE SC and other applications shipped by it, such as Digikam.

The Software Compilation (SC) refers to a specific set of KDE Software which is given a version number. That doesn't mean that you should replace "KDE" with "KDE SC" now - for example, if you want to say which workspace you use, you can say "I use (KDE) Plasma Desktop/Netbook". If you want a more general term and not a specific workspace/application, you can use "KDE Software".
Now, this forum is both about KDE Software and its community (KDE), so the name "KDE Community Forums" still makes sense (although you could argue that "Community" is redundant).

I would argue that if the "Software Compilation" has components with a variety of version numbers, then by definition that "set" does not have a version number. Unless, the actual goal is to eventually make a package that is so complete in itself that it cannot be broken apart, it cannot be taken apart, and nothing else can be inserted into the package without injury to the rest of the package.
For example, if I look at a KDE component, that came in a package with other KDE components, and it has a version number of 4.1.4 and KDE has an overall version number of 4.4.4, then how does the Software Compilation definition make sense? The term "Community Forum" is by no means redundant since forums in general can take on any form that makes sense within the context that it is established.
I feel more like I do now than I did when I got here.

The forum has sections for amarok and koffice, as examples, neither of which are part of KDE SC.
