I have net-installed Archlinux on my laptop. This is the only command I have made since the installation of linux:
pacman -S kde I tried both of the methods here http://wiki.archlinux.org/index.php/KDE#Using_KDM_.28KDE_Display_Manager.29. Nothing happened--no graphic login(KDM) or KDE itself. I tried to "startkde" but it returns "$DISPLAY is not set or cannot connect to the X server". So I tried "startx" but it returns "command not found". I don't think I have missed any steps mentioned on this page http://wiki.archlinux.org/index.php/KDE. Helps appreciated. Thanks! |

You need to ensure that an X server is installed. Please refer to the Arch documentation for further information on how to do this.
