By default the KDE SC ships with 11 window decorations.
I'd like to know: Which one do you use? As this forum software only allows 10 poll options, I've combined KDE 2 and Laptop and Tabstrip and Web into one option. |

In some cases it makes sense to have more choices. Now the board settings are changed, i hope 20 choices will be enough now

Why are "KDE 2" and "Laptop", which are so different, placed in one option?
I prefer "Laptop", because its buttons are not square but rather wide rectangles, so it's much easier to hit the correct button with the touchpad... |

I use Crystal as my main theme with crystal default buttons, because they’re inconspicuous and flat. I’m not a big fan of colour gradients all over the place. Sometimes I also use QtCurve’s decorator, because it’s my widget engine.
I concur to clean up the list a little, I propose to ditch those that really look their age. KDE2 and Laptop both have the fault that they don’t put the window buttons into a screen corner, so one cannot just push the mouse into the top right corner to close a window, but has to aim for the button as well (thinking of touchpad users here). Some others have this issue as well, such as Tabstrip and Quartz. "Modern system" doesn’t look very modern to me. The buttons look very pixelated and somewhat un-round. And my personal taste: I could never see why someone would use Keramik. Its appearance is unharmonious and its gradients/shadows are somehow wrong. On the other hand, Plastik, despite becoming old as well, still looks quite nice and clean. It’s somewhat timeless. |

Voted for "Other". Currently I use Nitrogen, but occasionally I use others as well.
I do miss many KDE3 windecos ...I really liked Fahrenheit for example.
It's time to prod some serious buttock!

I tend to stick to Qtcurve for a few reasons:
1. I use Qtcurve as my style anyway so the win-deco and the style tends to blend together better, although admittedly not all that much more compared to when using another one. 2. I like the window-tabbing feature, and apart from Oxygen Qtcurve is the only windeco capable of tabbing that IMO looks good when tabbed. 3. It can be configured more to my liking than most decos. Not as much as Aurorae though, but Aurorae is way too slow on my hardware to be a contender. Smaragd and decorater could be contenders if they supported tabbing (maybe they do know, but last time I checked they didn't).
