Wel i have to say that i am using kde for 3 years with kubuntu
what i have to say ... i was a kde 3.5 user and i love it thne i changed it while kde was at 4.2 version. the first version ,i guess ,that was "stable enought" now i am on kde 4.5 rc2 and it's slower than kde 4.4 (using the same kernel...) so ..  anyone have the same problem of mine ?loving kde

Not necessarily. Did you try a fresh new user on your RC2? That way you can check if it might be related to some configs that slow down your system.

like "old user" i always delete $HOME/.kde everytime i upgrade
