Hi everyone,
I'm looking to buy a netbook, and plan to put KDE Plasma Netbook on it when I get it. Any advice on a netbook that works well/best with it? I'm looking for something that came out earlier this year, not a more expensive brand new release (Other places to put the money saved). Been looking at the Toshiba NB305 because I've read it is among the most comfortable to use, and has a good keyboard. Still, I'm open to suggestions. Thanks. (Edit, fixed title.) |

Plasma works on EeePC 900/901/900A, speed is OK.

Thanks for the replies!
BellaVega: The Toshiba NB305 has the Atom 450 processor (1.66ghz). Did you have any luck installing KDE Plasma? |

I have the Toshiba NB205 netbook, and its largest problem in the past was not having working speakers. I imagine the NB305 was in the same boat. The latest Linux kernel has addressed that. If you're using openSUSE or Fedora, you don't have to do anything. If you're using Ubuntu, you'll have to tweak a particular file before the sound works. As far as KDE is concerned, the netbook runs fine. I have been running KDE on the NB205 for most of this past year.
