...if you've changed the button sizes in KDE -settings. Settings-->appearance-->windows-->button sizes (or something like that).
I have Linux Mint 9 KDE now, but the same thing is in some other KDE -distros also (OpenSuse, PCLinuxOS...if i remember right), so it might be KDE -related bug? |

Now FF opens normally...didn't do anything, but the problem's gone. Hmmmm...
