Have downloaded 4 beta 11 and has opened with ark by default.


And in ark 1 million files with nothing to execute and no explanation...nothing...

I really dont get it...

Firefox is no part of KDE, you should consult your distribution of choice. And just guessing that you might have downloaded the sources, no executable at all. You should consider using your distro's package manager to install any software you want.

and how do i find a package for my distro?

using synaptic ?

If i do a search in synaptic for firefox i can only find the installed 3.6.13...version..


Does it mean that i am stuck with this version?

Is there a way of updating,downloading ...finding other packages.??

The folks from your distro should know more, they have probably more skilled people for your case around than we. ;)
Some distros tend to have some sort of Beta repository, but you really should ask them what to do for pclinuxos.
But compiling from sources is no good advise for a beginner, can give you a hard time.
