Will Kubuntu work on the ACER D255?

Wed Mar 02, 2011 11:11 pm
Im thinking of getting a ACER D255 for my Birthday, and I want to make sure the Intel GPU will work, my friend had so much trouble getting it to work on his, so I want to make sure it will work fine for me.
This laptop has a GMA 3150 in it.
Thanks :)

According to https://bbs.archlinux.org/viewtopic.php?id=89645 this hardware is supported with newer Intel drivers. You may need to use 10.10 instead of 10.04, or possibly even an Alpha distribution. Your mileage may vary though.

Yes, Maverick has 2.12 intel drivers, Natty has 2.14, but of course that does not specify how well they work, unfortunately.
