I installed Slackware 13.1 recently. I believe it comes with KDE 4.4.3. I've had some annoying issues with it. When I checked the properties of a folder on my external hard drive the size was grossly inaccurate. When I transferred that folder to Slackware the ETA kept jumping all over the place. Also, the worst part, it didn't transfer all the files. It left out quite a bit actually...

what is the file system on the external drive?
if you check the properties of a folder on the external hard drive using "du -sb" is it correct? is it correct if you use krusader or mc or any other filemanager? |

The external uses NTFS. Haven't tried the others and I won't be able to for a bit. I know that it's correct when I use Nautilus though.

if it's correct using Nautilus and not Dolphin I would suspect a bug

Oh yay, yet another bug. I guess I'll try GnomeSlackBuild.

Is there a way you could get something more recent than KDE 4.4.3 in Slackware? That bug may have been fixed by 4.6.1.

As far as I know I can only upgrade to 4.4.5 in Slackware 13.1
