autohide time KDE device notifier

Wed Mar 23, 2011 3:57 pm
When I plug a pendrive into a usb port the KDE device notifier automounts it, as configured to my desires, and shows a dialog with the device that was just mounted. After a few seconds the dialog disappears, but in my experience this takes too long, it blocks access to other things I am doing. Wouldn't it be possible to have the possibility to configure this delay? Especially for the devices that are automounted, I don't need to look at that for more than let's say 1 second, just to know it mounted correctly. It would improve my workflow very much.

Btw I am a long time KDE user and wouldn't want anything else!

It appears that this time cannot be manipulated unfortunately.

I think I recall a developer saying not too long ago that those popups will no longer block your work. So if it pops up and you click on a window, the popup will disappear whether the delay is finished or not. So hopefully this will make controlling the delay unnecessary.
