I simply cannot use the latest Kmail as issued with Slackware 13.1. An Aknonadi error messsage pops up with error messages about MYSQL and Akonadi itself. It freezes Kmail and takes Kmail down altogether if I delete it. This is on a brand new unmodified install. Apparently others have similar problems. I am forced to use an older Slack partition with 13.0 to get my email done. Tried Claws but it had limitations I can't live with.

Is anyone working on this fatal flaw?

BTW I also use XFCE instead of KDE for my graphical interface but the same problem occurs with KDE.

does this occur if you login a a new user?

In addition, which version of KDE and Akonadi do you have? (akonadictl --version)
