installing java

Thu Apr 21, 2011 12:23 am
I have just installed kbuntu. I am sick of windows. I am no computer newbie and have toyed with linux prior. I play on a games site, pogo.com .I have successfully placed it in a folder unpacked? it. I am trying to place it in the file directory so firefox can recognize it. When I open the terminal, it opens to my user name file directory tom @tom-t6524. Dir command shows the file directory. I cant seem to get to the parallel file directory. root/usr/lib/firefox to insert a link to the java file. I have typed su but it does not accept my password. I dont know why. I would appreciate any help. Thanks.

You need to use Synaptic/KPackageKit to install Java. Not sure of the package name for Java on Kubuntu, but a search for "java" should reveal it.
