Driver configuration

Fri Apr 29, 2011 4:54 pm
I've installed the "fglrx" drivers. Everything works fine.
But, is there a way to configure the pre-splash screen(the one where Kubuntu... appears) to use the drivers effectively? After installing the drivers, I just get a blue screen with text instead of the animations.

The fglrx drivers from ATI do not support KMS, so the pre-login boot splash (based on Plymouth, which depends on KMS) cannot be used to it's fullest extent. There is nothing you can do to improve things unfortunately (other than pressure ATI to adopt KMS, which they are unlikely to do).
