This specific bug report is useless now so there was no point in keeping it open. Why was it useless? Because some people did not know how to use bko correctly, or more direct did not know when to shut up. Your reaction only shows that you yourself appear to be ignorant. There is no entry in the solving part called "users destroyed report". And if you close a report you have to mark it as "resolved", that is the way bko works. Though that was too much work to look into, instead of posting cynicial remarks implying that some devs are not grown up, not mature and not ego-free. Think about how arrogant implying something like that is. Do you know any of these people in person? Any of these people who created software for free that you use/used. Is that respectful behaviour you are displaying there? Also none said that any further reports on this problem would be closed instantly. So if you'd create a new one with all important information that would not be a problem. Though you should rather improve the quality of existing dupliccates and make sure that there is just one report on this topic.
You sound really arrogant. Ask your marketing friend if he would work in marketing for free. We can't perform magic instead we can give and we constantly do that. But what do we get back? Quite good feedback and then also arrogant behavior. Like the CADT remark. What has this CADT remark to do with anything? You do realise that this measure described in text you linked can be regarded as keeping a product maintainable. There is no use in having hundreds of bugs open on versions that aren't maintained anymore. But yeah you did not understand that, neither did the person creating that website. So if you know it so much better then _do_ it better. None will stop you. Invest your energy in something positive, there are so many ways to contribute something. Yeah but constantly grumbling on something is so much easier and one hardly risks anything in doing so. If something is really so bad that it stops you and others being productive well then there are ways to counter that: Learn programming, create a bounty, maybe asking _friendly_ on IRC what _you_ should do about a problem ... Yet as it appears many people don't know what friendly asking is. Instead whenever they think they asked friendly they also put a lot of reproaches and sarcastic energy into their questions. So if you ask me -- not saying that you do -- to try reduce the number of disappointed users as much as possible -- with my capabilities -- then I also want to be paid full time, since that would be a _job_ requesting one's total focus.

Okay, less of the "your are ignorant" stuff please. edgue stated why s/he was unhappy, mat 69 replied why the bug was closed and that was quite enough.
Life is so much sweeter without personal attacks - just think of the energy you save by not stooping that low. Closing this topic and split the bugsquad idea. Please continue here: viewtopic.php?f=15&t=95040
