Quite new to KDE here, using it as my main desktop for two weeks now and I am starting to slowly find out neat new features that KDE has to offer. How about you shorten my search by a little bit and list your favorite/most used/neat feature that you think KDE has that is not easy to find.
One example I have is that KDE supports mouse gestures and I don't need to download any plugins for my web browsers to add support, but can set it up directly and globally in KDE and it just works! This amazes me to no end as a new KDE user. Share your thoughts, don't be a stranger |

BSmith1012 :
Thanks for the link to your blog, was a nice read! Didn't know KDE had activities. montfras: Cheers for those power user tools, I'm currently satisfied with what KDE has as default but will have a look at them later on when I get the hold of it. |

One feature that might be distinct with KDE is the ability to 'easily' customise any window:
Right click on window border -> Advanced -> Special Window Settings > A menu will come up with many features such as: - Window opacity (active/inactive), size, position, shading, placement, fullscreen, borders, focus, above/below/ontop (cannot do this on Windows), closable, focus stealing properties..... and many more. You could have a distinct config for each window. This is an amazing amout of customisation! Perhaps it can be done in Gnome but it would take some time to achieve. KDE makes it easy. |
