This "widget dashboard" keeps poping up, and when it does, i can't do nothing anymore. I have to close the box before i can control my other programs again.
How can i stop this? I'm looking in "Desktop effects" but i don't see where i can disable it. It wasn't there before.

it's not effect so it can't be disabled as such
some more info needed: - new install? upgrade? - was it ok before? if so what changed? - version of KDE? Kubuntu? - does it happen for a new/different user? |

New, install.
I think it was ok before i started changing "desktop effects" The thing is, i just reinstalled my Kubuntu from friday, and on saturday i was changing the settings. So its difficault to say if the "problem" was there or not. Kubuntu 11.04 (latest version), version of KDE: I don't know how to check yet ![]() Its a singe user system. I will try as root user and update. |

to see what version of KDE you're running just open a KDE app (Kate, Dolphinn, etc...) and click -> help -> about KDE

The Widget Dashboard has always been triggered F12 by default. This has been included since at least KDE 4.4.
Perhaps you accidentally changed the shortcut, or are using the "Show Dashboard" applet? You can change the shortcut at System Settings > Shortcuts & Gestures > Global Keyboard Shortcuts. Select "Plasma Desktop Workspace" from the dropdown.

It was the setting "screen edges" in "workspace behavior" that was causing to load the "widget dashboard" each time when i moved my mouse over one of the screen edges
![]() Thanks! (i didn't have a clue it existed) ![]() |
