If your KWallet wallet has a password, then Smb4k will not be able to retrieve your NAS password to be able to connect to it on startup.

I thought the KDE wallet has a password by default. The same as the system password?
Anyway, if i have to disable it to make it work, i will. I just wonder how i can do it, and if it safe to do so? |

I use KDE Wallet mostly for convenience and I don't put passwords on the wallets themselves. I've not used any other configuration, so I'm not sure how to advise you other than to ensure that your wallet doesn't have a password. Open KRunner, type "KDE Wallet Manager", right-click your wallet, choose "Change Password", and set the password blank.

Steveriley,
Thanks, I got it work. My NAS was mounted automatically after I entered the pass in the KDE wallet. Just my NTFS was not mounted, but didn't really matter anymore. I have to get rid of it anyway. But between my last post and now I switched to XFCE.There are many things i like in KDE, but the slowness (On my machine) made the user experience just unacceptable . And now with XFCE it running great. My hardware, I admit, is not new. But i don't feel like upgrading it now in these expensive times of me and my bad luck. So thanks again for your effort, I will still make use smb4k. And thanks to the forums Admins for helping me out in the beginning with all my problems. It helped me a lot! And it was not a waste of time, because although I switched from DE, i stay loyal to Linux ![]() Jimmy |

Since you're switching to XFCE, you'll probably want to look into GVFS. Smb4k is really for KDE and if you install it in an XFCE-based distro, it'll pull in a lot of KDE and Qt. |

Thanks, it was actually installed by default (apparently).
