I wrote a lot of negative feedback on different forums about kde4 and tired to do so
I do not want to offend anyone, but I must tell my 2c to KDE4 defenders because I like KDE and use it since very first release. Well, IMHO KDE4 is victim of new silly FOSS paradigm "Release often, release early". Some guys took to close this damned "early". So close that pre-alpha software get called "Release". Real release will be may be 4.2 in case of KDE4. That's not only KDE team infection. A lot of projects are infected by this "early" itch. May be there are to few old guys left, at least older then 30 to cease the rush and cure the itch of "early releases". I develop mostly in Java world and there are beta releases, RCs and so on that have better quality then I can see in Linux world last year. For instance, Netbeans RCs are very usable and featured. Server software such as Tomcat or Jackrabbit or Derby or whatever else is rock-solid when it comes to release. I think that such huge negative feedback on KDE4 will teach community one lesson. Do not take to much serious that damned "early" part. Call things what they really are. If it is just stable API and few buggy apps on top of it, don't ever call it "release". Again, I do not want to start flames or offend anyone. KDE4 is great work of programmers but project management and release engineering are on wrong way along with a lot of other projects around.
alukin, proud to be a member of KDE forums since 2008-Nov.
