comments from my use of KDE

Overall: excellent!

But I do have some problems / requests:

Using sideshow in activity settings with different sideshows for each virtual desktop results in only one working after each log in (have to redo it for the other desktops)

Digital clock no longer gives options to format the time/date in ISO standard. Would like to make a request that the clock goes back to giving options for different formats.

Language: Comes in US Englsih so I get "trash"). Would like an option to put it in English English (so I get a waste basket)

Don't quite follow the reasoning bhing having "folder view" and "desktop view" in desktop activity. I think of "desktop" as meaning I can added icons to the desktop, which I can't. But I can in "folder view". Which to me makes "folder view" a desktop and "desktop", useless!

Sounds like a bug. By the way, which version do you use? In the newer versions the wallpaper settings (I guess that's what you refer to) are found in Desktop Settings, not in Activity Settings, so I suspect that you don't use the newest version.

System Settings -> Locale -> Country/Region & Language -> Date & Time -> Time format.

I agree that an option in the clock widget would be good.

Do you mean British English? Can't you just install that and change in System Settings? (I don't know if it says 'waste basket' instead of 'trash' though.)

Desktop - general desktop where you can put widgets.
Folder View - a desktop that displays the contents of a folder.

In Plasma Workspaces the desktop is no longer a sort-of file manager, like the classic desktops you might think of. Instead, it's a place where you can place widgets to display what you want, for example a Folder View widget that shows the contents of a folder. You can also make the whole desktop a Folder View, thus getting something that resembles a traditional desktop.

Thanks for the reply

Never had a distribution of Linux where I found a bug before but in this one I have found a few, even found a kernel bug!

4.4.5, as it comes in Debian 6.0.1

No such option, the best I can do : System Settings -> Personal -> Region & Language -> Country/Region & Language -> Time and Dates

Which gives me Date format and Short date format. The date form option does not give me an option to use ISO format but the short date format does. Looks like the clock uses the date format option.

No, English English. They speak another kind of English in Scotland.

Under System Settings -> Personal -> Region & Language -> Country/Region & Language -> Locale I only have the option to install US English.

Well, just from this user's point of view, I would like something that has ease of use and works. So, for me, a tradition desktop fulfils that requirement as I have things to do and projects to work on I don't want to spend too much time learning a new interface. I could have fun playing with other types of desktops when I have time.
