Hi,
web cloud is ubiquitous and KDE’s one (OwnCloud) is getting more popular. I would like to share my opinion about note-taking apps in Linux/KDE. Up till now I've been using Basket. Basket is no longer maintained, but I can’t find anything better. Braindump’s UI is too cluttered for simple text notes. Maybe KJots? What I am missing is lack of synchronizing notes in Linux/KDE. Windows has OneNote, GNOME, Tomboy. And there is Evernote. Evernote is admittedly cross-browser but: • there is no official client for Linux • unofficial Linux clients are very ugly • the back-end belongs to the company • they advise? not to sync sensitive private data I think that thanks to OwnCloud, sooner or later we’ll get syncing of notes in KDE. I would like so! I dream of being able to sync all my notes among my desktop/phone/web/other machines. Do you think it come true? Many of us would like to have such feature. If we had at least a web client (an OwnCloud app) there is no need for Windows client. What do you think? Please share your opinions. |
