k3b doesn't see my drive

Mon Aug 06, 2012 9:42 am
Hi.

FreeBSD 9.1-PRERELEASE
KDE 4.8.2

I upgraded from 4.6.2 and voila.
I think that everybody is tired to see new questions like that.
But still, why ? :)

I did some searching and:

Code: Select all
[emz@bsdrookie:/<1>local/etc]# ls -l /usr/local/bin/cdr*
-r-sr-xr-x  1 root  wheel  627496  6 авг 14:01 /usr/local/bin/cdrdao
-r-sr-xr-x  1 root  wheel  440792  6 авг 13:31 /usr/local/bin/cdrecord

Code: Select all
[emz@bsdrookie:/<1>local/etc]# ls -l /dev/cd0
crw-rw-rw-  1 root  operator    0, 122  5 авг 12:54 /dev/cd0

Code: Select all
[emz@bsdrookie:/<1>local/etc]# ls -l /dev/pass*
crw-rw-rw-  1 root  operator    0, 107  5 авг 12:54 /dev/pass0
crw-rw-rw-  1 root  operator    0, 108  5 авг 12:54 /dev/pass1
crw-rw-rw-  1 root  operator    0, 109  5 авг 12:54 /dev/pass2
crw-rw-rw-  1 root  operator    0, 110  5 авг 12:54 /dev/pass3
crw-rw-rw-  1 root  operator    0, 111  5 авг 12:54 /dev/pass4
crw-rw-rw-  1 root  operator    0, 112  5 авг 12:54 /dev/pass5
crw-rw-rw-  1 root  operator    0, 113  5 авг 12:54 /dev/pass6

And even hald is running and sees my drive:

Code: Select all
udi = '/org/freedesktop/Hal/devices/computer_storage'
  block.device = '/dev/cd0'  (string)
  block.is_volume = false  (bool)
  block.major = 0  (0x0)  (int)
  block.minor = 122  (0x7a)  (int)
  block.storage_device = '/org/freedesktop/Hal/devices/computer_storage'  (string)
  freebsd.device_file = '/dev/cd0'  (string)
  freebsd.driver = 'cd'  (string)
  freebsd.unit = 0  (0x0)  (int)
  info.capabilities = {'block', 'storage'} (string list)
  info.category = 'storage'  (string)
  info.parent = '/org/freedesktop/Hal/devices/computer'  (string)
  info.product = 'Storage Device'  (string)
  info.subsystem = 'block'  (string)
  info.udi = '/org/freedesktop/Hal/devices/computer_storage'  (string)
  storage.automount_enabled_hint = true  (bool)
  storage.bus = 'platform'  (string)
  storage.drive_type = 'disk'  (string)
  storage.hotpluggable = false  (bool)
  storage.media_check_enabled = false  (bool)
  storage.model = ''  (string)
  storage.no_partitions_hint = false  (bool)
  storage.originating_device = ''  (string)
  storage.removable = false  (bool)
  storage.removable.support_async_notification = false  (bool)
  storage.requires_eject = false  (bool)
  storage.vendor = ''  (string)

But k3b doesn't.

Thanks.

Is KDE built with HAL support enabled? The default is likely for UDisks/UPower (which is linux specific, although it uses D-Bus as well) rather than HAL.
