Mon Apr 22, 2013 10:31 pm
Is there a way to burn avi to cd with k3b? When I tried the disc became unusable. I tried to open the disc on 2 different computers with no luck.

does it open on the pc you burned it on?
do you have issues burning other types of file?

No. I see the data but I can't open it with any media player program.
I burn ISO's all the time with no problems.

if you copy & rename it back to disk does it play?
any errors listed in the k3b log?
try opening the file using mplayer from the command line just: mplayer fullpath_filename and look at the output for errors

try the verify written data option

For some reason I can't use the open disc option with my media players. I have to use the open file option. I guess avi's are special. It also works fine with mplayer when I give the full path.

it's not supposed to play as you imagine, the optical disk is formatted/written as type data disk with an avi file on it not a video/music disc like a cd or a dvd.
