The CD audio burner works (on ubuntu 12.04) for my flacs, but it loses my title and artist info. The tracks I want to record are my own, so don't exist in freedb or elsewhere.

The cddb configuration seems correct (I had to install kde-config-cddb).

Is there any way to get K3b to use my text?

I was wrong - apologies.

I was misled by Rhythmbox which, strangely, can only see CD text written by Brasero (which has its own much more serious problems). using libcdio-utils and cd-info I managed to see the text had indeed been written. EAC (under Wine) was also able to see the text correctly.
